Shop tip: The Chinook stands out by using a protective printed layer on the inside instead of a traditional, heavy mesh lining. This makes the jacket extremely packable and featherlight on your body, while giving you complete freedom of movement when aiming or carrying a plate carrier.
Extreme 20,000 mm weather protection and breathability
When the heavens open up during an airsoft game or a mountain hike, the hydrostatic head is your most important parameter.Helikon-Tex Chinook offers a class-leading water column rating of 20,000 mm. To ensure that absolutely no moisture gets through, all seams are fully taped on the inside, and every zipper is protected by sealed storm flaps. At the same time, the jacket delivers excellent breathability (moisture vapor transmission of 20,000 g/m²/24h). This means excess heat and sweat can escape efficiently during high-intensity activity, helping you stay dry and warm from the inside out.
The jacket is also treated with a state-of-the-art, PFC-free DWR C0 finish. This eco-friendly surface treatment makes water and dirt roll right off the fabric, preventing the outer material from becoming heavy and saturated with water.

Tactical ergonomics and smart details
Chinook is built to perform during dynamic movement.It features four strategically placed pockets: two spacious hand pockets and two smart shoulder pockets that provide quick access to your gear even when wearing a plate carrier or a backpack with a hip belt. The shoulder pockets also feature hook-and-loop panels for ID or unit patches. If the intensity increases, you can quickly regulate ventilation via the two-way zippers under the arms.
The hood edge, hem, and cuffs offer simple adjustment options for a tailored fit that keeps cold drafts out. The sturdy two-way main zipper is secured with a solid Prym snap button at the bottom for extra reliability when bending or sitting. Thanks to its thin, laminated construction, the jacket can be packed down to a minimal size, and a practical carry bag is included in the box.
